Ob Mednarodnem dnevu statistike, ki bo potekal v ponedeljek, 20. oktobra 2020, vas drušvo Mlada akademija, v sodelovanju z Mlado sekcijo Statističnega društva Slovenije in iniciativo Young Statisticians Europe (YSE), vabi na spletni dogodek, namenjen raziskovalnim in profesionalnim karieram mladih statistikov ter podatkovnih znanstvenikov v tujini. Dogodek poteka v okviru Meseca znanosti, ki ga organizira Ministrstvo za visoko šolstvo, znanost in inovacije (MVZI).
Pobuda Young Statisticians Europe (YSE) povezuje mlade sekcije večine evropskih nacionalnih statističnih društev, članic združenja FENStatS. Nastala je leta 2018, ko so tri mlade francoske statističarke organizirale večdnevno mednarodno delavnico za mlade statistike v Parizu.
Na dogodku bomo predstavili pobudo YSE in predvsem možnosti, ki jih nudi za raziskovalne in profesionalne kariere mladih statistikov ter podatkovnih znanstvenikov v Sloveniji, Evropi in širše po svetu. Pobudo bosta predstavila dr. Andrej Srakar (v živo) in prof. dr. Joaquin Martinez Minaya iz španske sekcije (prek spleta). Dogodek bo potekal v angleškem jeziku.

On the occasion of World Statistics Day, taking place on Monday, 20 October 2025, the Mlada akademija association, in collaboration with the Young Section of the Statistical Society of Slovenia and the Young Statisticians Europe (YSE) initiative, invites you to an online event dedicated to research and professional careers of young statisticians and data scientists abroad. The event is part of the Month of Science, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation (MVZI).
The Young Statisticians Europe (YSE) initiative connects young sections of most European national statistical societies, members of the FENStatS federation. It was established in 2018, when three young French statisticians organized a multi-day international workshop for young statisticians in Paris.
During the event, we will present the YSE initiative and especially the opportunities it offers for research and professional careers of young statisticians and data scientists in Slovenia, across Europe, and around the world. The initiative will be presented by Dr. Andrej Srakar (live) and Prof. Dr. Joaquin Martinez Minaya from the Spanish section (online). The event will be held in English.
